Charleston, SC - There’s no place like home. Just ask former Wando High School star Chleb Ravenell. The Mount Pleasant native is now starting for Western Michigan University and just finishing up a pretty good year.
With 48 catches for over 500 yards in his first D1 Season- not too shabby. But this year hasn’t been all smiles for Ravenell.
Kalamazoo, Michigan is his first stop without his best friend. Ja’Quayvin Smalls stood by his side at Wando, was his roommate in Junior College, but passed away just before this season.
For Ravenell, everything he does is in honor of Smalls, and says, Smalls has pushed him to be where he is now. It’s quite a journey, but one Ravenell, is not taking alone.
