Columbia, SC -
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says the Gamecocks are playing their biggest game of the year this weekend against Clemson.
Spurrier says playing in the Southeastern Conference title game would be bigger, but with that chance gone, his 6-5 team will try to snap a three-game losing streak and improve its bowl possibilities.
The Tigers have dominated the series, winning 10 of the last 12 games. That includes a 31-14 win last season that both linebacker Nathan Pepper and receiver Moe Brown called embarrassing.
After the Florida loss, quarterback Stephen Garcia said this week's game was a must-win for the Gamecocks.
Spurrier says one game doesn't define a program, but he understands why South Carolina fans want this win so badly.
