Charleston, SC - Patty Tennant loves her retirement. Since finishing her career at MUSC last year, she’s bought a very secluded house in rural Williamsburg County.
She doesn’t do much but take walks, exercises, canoes and watches the wildlife. During her days, she thinks of many things, but there is one thing that almost always crosses her mind.
The day ,17 years ago when she was leaving the hospital. Walking to her car, she was assaulted by three teenage boys.
One stole her purse and all three took off running. But witnessing the entire scene was two Citadel Cadets who were out for a run.
The two took off chasing the teens, caught them, recovered the purse and held the boys down until police arrived.
After receiving the Order of the Palmetto from Gov. Campbell, the cadets and the woman they saved lost touch.
One of those boys, has kept in the limelight. You may know him as North Charleston Head Football Coach Jimmy Brown.
He doesn’t think of the day much, but does remember it and fondly remembers Patty. The two haven’t met in 17 years, until Friday...click the e-Video to see their emotional reunion.
