Charleston, SC - Charleston Police say a traffic stop Friday evening on Morrison Drive led to the arrest of two people on narcotic charges and the confiscation of several grams of heroin.

Darren Fiall, 42, is charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school. Elise Cecile Nelson, 21, is charged with possession of heroin. Both suspects were transported to the Charleston County Detention Center.

Officers say they started a traffic stop about 7 p.m. near 999 Morrison Drive after noticing a vehicle with its driver side window shattered, the driver side mirror broken and the vehicle tag lights weren’t operable.

Nelson and Fiall were asked to exit the vehicle.

According to investigators, as Fiall exited the vehicle, an officer saw him toss several items to the ground. The officer says he retrieved the items which turned out be four plastic baggies containing a total of two grams of heroin.

Nelson was found to be in possession of several hypodermic needles and a silver spoon which contained .01 gram of heroin, police say.

The investigation continues.
