Charleston, SC -
The appreciation for America's veterans was as easy to spot as old glory herself. Thousands took in part in the early Veteran's Day parade.
"It's very important that our country has people who are willing to go out and fight for this country and the freedoms we have," said Donald Wolfswinkel, a veteran of the Air Force.
One by one active duty and retired heroes were recognized for a job well done by many who don't even know their name, but for many of the veteran's today's parade took on an even deeper meaning after Thursday’s tragedy at Fort Hood that left 13 soldiers dead and many more wounded."
William Meisburger spent 27 years in the Navy - he says the headlines from Texas have touched him personally.
"It was like my own brother, I lost a brother or a sister whatever the case maybe, someone hurts them they hurt me," he said. “There’s a bond,” he added.
