Buy Local Week in Charleston

Lowcountry businesses are urging shoppers to buy local this week. Buy Local Week kicks off December 1st through December 7th and will feature a full week of local shopping, dining and cultural events. The goal is to increase local purchasing patterns by at least ten percent.
Below is a list of events during Buy Local Week:
December 2nd: “Buy Local Holiday Bazaar”
The event will be at 10 Storehouse Row at the Navy Yard at Noisette in North Charleston from 3 until 8 p.m.
This event will be a wonderful opportunity to stock up on more traditional holiday gift items like crafts and jewelry, but to also to learn about local charities and purchase memberships or make donations as more non-traditional gifts.
This event is free.
December 3rd: “Eat Local Night”
Participating restaurant will spotlight local ingredients and offer discounts and special dishes just for local diners. A full list of restaurants can be found on www.lowcountrylocalfirst.org.
December 4th: Screening of the documentary “Independent America”
The film begins at 7:30 and will be shown at the Terrace Theater on James Island.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
December 7th: “Buy Local, Be Local Bash”
This festive holiday party will take place at Lowndes Grove in downtown Charleston and runs from 7 until 11 p.m. There will be food provided by twelve of the Charleston's top chefs, live music, beer, wine, Firefly vodka, and a special slideshow tribute to several Lowcountry local heroes, who have donated their time, resources and talent to making this community a better place to live.
