(AP) -- The State Election Commission will hear a challenge to a South Carolina House election next month.
Former Republican Rep. Wallace Scarborough is challenging his loss to Democrat Anne Peterson Hutto earlier this month.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that the State Election Commission has confirmed the challenge will be considered in Columbia on Dec. 3.
Hutto won the seat that covers James Island and Folly Beach by 211 votes.
Scarborough says more than 700 voters illegally cast ballots and he wants a new election.
