North Charleston -
More flights taking off the departure board, Delta Airlines plans to pull it's only non-stop flight from Cincinnati to Charleston by early 2010.
"Airlines are struggling to find a business model that allows them to make money," said David Jennings, Chairman of the Charleston County Aviation Authority.
And with AirTran already announcing it's departure by the end of the year- some passengers worry about increased ticket costs.
"Being in the military it's sad because we are so far from home it's nice to know I can get a cheap ticket if I have to" said Ericka Tarkowski.
Charleston county Aviation officials are now trying to remedy that issue. They're offering incentives to attract new low-cost carriers like waiving thousands of dollars in landing fees and cutting the expensive startup costs that can reach well over one hundred thousand dollars.
"The key for pricing is getting a low cost carrier in and that is our top priority," Jennings said.
