Charleston, SC - Police say they have arrested two teenagers for an armed robbery in Charleston Saturday morning.
The Charleston Police Department charged a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy both from Jacksonboro with armed robbery.
Authorities say the two juveniles were arrested during a traffic stops minutes after a man was robbed at an Orange Grove Road apartment complex.
The victim told police that he went to the Georgetown Apartments about 2 a.m. to visit some friends. While standing in the parking lot, he says he saw several people inside of a white van parked near the vehicle of one of his friends.
Police say he thought they were trying to vandalize his friend’s vehicle.
The suspects then left the vehicle and approached the victim with one of the suspects armed with a shotgun, according to investigators. Police say the suspects robbed the victim and tied his hands with his belt.
A description of the vehicle was given to officers and the vehicle was spotted and stopped.
The 17-year-old juvenile was being held in the Charleston County Detention Center, while the 15-year-old male was being held by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
