Charleston, SC -
Terry Williams spoke out on his own behalf in bond court on Friday. The 31 year old is charged with obstruction of justice in connection to the Kate Waring case.
"I have talked to the police from the beginning of the case when they came to talk to me and I have talked to the investigators about this case the obstruction of justice I dont get I never lied to them," Williams said.
The dispute centers in part around Kate Waring's iPod. According to an affidavit, Heather Kamp gave it to Williams following Waring's disappearance on June 12th. Williams says Kamp gave an iPod to him in return for cigarettes and food. Williams claims he didn’t realize it was Waring’s until 2 months later after seeing her name on it, however affidavits show an unnamed witness told police Waring's iPod was actually given to him after he and Ethan Mack put Kate Waring's body in the trunk of car to move it.
"I gave them all that I knew from this case I don't understand why they're trumping up this charge to hold me and screw me for something I don't know anything about," Williams said.
Terry Williams is the 3rd person charged in connected to the Waring Case along with Heather Kamp and Ethan Mack who were arrested earlier this month. Williams has previous arrests for robbery, resisting arrest and forgery. Mack, Kamp and Williams are all behind bars tonight -- police say the investigation into Kate Waring's death will continue.
