Charleston, SC - It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that the body of our daughter Kate was found today on Wadmalaw Island. Today’s revelation is both shattering and bittersweet. While we will never have the chance to see our beautiful daughter walk down the aisle at her wedding, or see her fulfill her dreams– we can now bring our daughter home and give her the proper burial she deserves. We can only imagine that our anguish and pain will not subside for quite some time, but we can now begin the healing process as a family. Thank you to everyone who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers since Kate went missing on the evening on June 12th, 2009.   We ask that you please refer any questions about the investigation surrounding this case to the proper authorities. Finally, we ask that the media respect our privacy during this difficult period.
