Moncks Corner, SC - A mother loses two children, one to murder, the other to jail. Berkeley County Sheriff's officials are accusing a man of killing his brother.

Investigators arrested Aaron Moricoli yesterday for the death of James Moricoli. It was an unusual circumstance in a Moncks Corner court room tonight when a mother represented both sides, the victim and the suspect.

Loretta Lake yelled out “I love you” to her son taken back into jail after a bond hearing. Her son, Aaron Moricoli is accused of killing her eldest son, James by hitting him over the head with a cast iron frying pan.

They had been bad blood between them, according to Lake.

“It was apparently on the horizon for a very long time, the demise or the threat of the demise,” said Lake after her son was discovered dead.

With one son gone, Lake is sticking by her other child, only wishing she could have said a few last words to James.

“Goodbye, I love you, and be good and god bless you, that’s about all you can say, can't you?”  Lake said yesterday.

According to the affidavit, a witness says Moricoli admitted to killing the victim. Moricoli will remain in custody at least until a circuit court judge sets a bond hearing date.
