Mount Pleasant, SC - The 2009 Boone Hall Corn Maze that opens to the public this coming Thursday, covers the whole state of South Carolina.
Presented by Boone Hall Plantation and Boone Hall Farms, the eight acre attraction this year features two separate mazes. The main maze is cut in the shape of the state of South Carolina and features paths that lead to all different areas of the state like roads on a map. Endorsed by the South Carolina Dept. of Parks Recreation and Tourism…this maze allows visitors to "take a trip" from Charleston to The Upstate...from Columbia to the Grand Strand….cross the Ravenel Bridge or visit the state’s tourism web site…Travel2SC.com. The second maze allows exploration of the state capital building and state symbols.
The maze also partners one of the state’s oldest industries, farming, with one of today’s most popular communication technologies, text messaging. Once inside the maze, visitors can use text messaging technology to receive directions, clues about which way to go, or to time their exploration inside the maze. Because of the theme, the attraction is being presented as
“The Carolina Corn Maze” and promoted by Boone Hall with the adapted slogan, “Nothing could be finer than to get lost in Carolina.”
