Ravenel, SC - Police say they are on the lookout for two men who invaded a home and lead authorities on a car chase in Ravenel.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Davidson Road for a report of a home invasion on Sept. 11.
While enroute to the home, a deputy saw a four door SUV type Explorer leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The deputy says he and another patrol vehicle then attempted to catch up with the SUV.
Police say the SUV then drove onto County Line Road near Parkers Ferry Road into a ditch and got stuck, with both of the suspects running into the woods.
According to investigators, a mother and son at the home told police that they were in their living room and heard a loud noise at the back door.
At that point they say a suspect entered the home through the back door armed with a small rifle or shotgun and ordered the two on the floor, investigators say.
The suspect then opened the front door for another armed male suspect and asked the woman if she had any money. The suspects then went to the woman’s room and began to throw things around.
After finding no money, both of the suspects left the home.
Investigators say that the back door had been kicked in and that the victim’s bedroom was ransacked.
