Charleston, SC - Fifty days without a trace, the daughter of a well-known Charleston attorney is still missing.
Monday several of 28 year old Katherine Waring’s friends and private investigators hired by the family gathered to release new information about her search.
“It’s not like her to disappear at all,” Stanyarne Reid said. Reid has known Waring since kindergarten.
“We’re running down every lead that comes in, not matter how remote we think it might lead to her,” said private investigator, Dick Vance.
Investigators also hope the new $25,000 reward that family and friends contributed to helps.
"We don't want to know who you are,” said Crime Stoppers, Noah Moore. “Awards are given anonymously, they're cash."
According to a police report, a man tried cashing a $4,500 personal check of Waring's at a James Island bank, the day after she went missing. Also, according to that police report, her father, Thomas Waring told police his daughter expressed fear over threats she claims were made against her.
The Charleston Police Department is also investigating. Meanwhile, Crime Stoppers will be handling the reward money and its distribution.
Tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111 or go to www.5541111.com (SC and U.S.).
