The North Charleston Police Department responded to a shooting around 9:20 p.m. Saturday. 

They arrived to Alston Ave. to find 39-year-old Martin Villicana lying on the ground with three visible bullet wounds to his left side, stomach and back.  Villicana told police he was operating a taco stand in the parking lot of 2410 Alston Ave. between buildings 300 and 500 when four men attempted to rob him.  Investigators found a shell casing from a  .038 caliber pistol at the crime scene.  

Villicana was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Medical University of South Carolina.

The suspects are described as black males between the ages of 18-22.
