A James Island Kentucky Fried Chicken was robbed Monday around 10 p.m.
Three employees were confronted by a male with a gun demanding money from the register. The suspect entered the restaurant through the employee access door and pointed a gun to one of the employees heads and threatened to kill her if she screamed. The suspect then demanded the employee go to the safe and empty it.
In all, four bags of money totaling $4,000 were handed to the suspect. He fled from the scene through the drive through window. One of the employees was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina with anxiety issues.
The suspect was described as wearing all black with black gloves. Employees said the suspect had a deep voice, but could not tell his race.
An identification card for Wayne Chandler was found near the scene of the crime, but employees were not able to positively identify Chandler as the suspect.
