At 11 am the center of Tropical Storm Fay was located near latitude 29.3 north, longitude 80.8 west, or about 15 miles east northeast of Daytona Beach, Florida.
Fay is nearly stationary, but a slow turn to the northwest is expected later today, eventually taking the storm back across the Florida peninsula.
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph, with higher gusts. Slow intensification is still possible today as Fay remains out over warm Atlantic Ocean water, but a gradual weakening is expected once the storm moves back inland.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 150 miles from the center.
Estimated minimum central pressure of Fay is 994 millibars or 29.35 inches of mercury.
