A Berkeley County bus catches fire on the first day back to school.

It happened around 7:00 a.m. Monday morning.  A Berkeley County school bus transporting students to Cane Bay High School pulled over with engine trouble.  The engine was smoking.  Students were evacuated from the bus.

After an initial investigation, fire officials believe the cause of the fire was oil on the engine.

No one was injured and all of the students were transported by another bus.

One lane of 176 was closed temporarily while the fire was being put out.  Students late due to stalled traffic will not receive a tardy notice.
