James Island, SC - Two bandits responsible for three armed robberies are on the loose.

Deputies say the same two men also robbed the Hibachi grill on Savannah highway around eleven.

Deputies believe these two men are from the area, and they worry the longer these men are on the run, the more dangerous this situation becomes. Fast and efficient, three businesses hit and in each case the suspects were in and out in less then five minutes. The two men police are looking for were caught on camera outside the Lil Cricket on James Island.

I think these were crimes of opportunity. These people had a chance to watch these businesses a little bit more, and suspected there would be more money Friday night is a busy night,” said Major John Clack with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects were armed with a hand gun at each location. Danny Bailey, owner of DB's cheese steaks off Folly Road, says business owners have enough to deal with in a tough economy without worrying about someone trying to steal.

I guess frustration, the safety of the staff and employees and everything along those lines, as to how to control it, I’m not really sure,” said Bailey

Deputies are working to identify the suspects, hoping someone in the public will recognize the pair before these robberies turn violent.

As these guys build up more confidence, they become more violent and that’s has us a little bit concerned,” said Clark.

No one was hurt in this rash of robberies, now it’s just a question of when and if these two will strike again.

In total the suspects got away with about a thousand dollars, a credit card and a wallet. Investigators say it’s too early to tell if these two men are linked to other robberies in the area.
