Charleston, SC - A First Baptist Church teacher is accused of soliciting sex from a 12-year-old student.
The Charleston County Sherriff’s officer charged Charles Fishburne Rhodes III with criminal solicitation of a minor.
The victim reported Rhodes began text messaging her on her cell phone after school let out for the summer, according to an affidavit.
The two sent text messages back and forth for two to three weeks when Rhodes wrote and asked her to “come over.” One text even asked her to perform oral sex on him, the affidavit said.
Rhodes waived his rights and admitted in a statement that he engaged in the sexual conversation with the student, the affidavit said.
