Charleston - It's something you had to expect. After two seasons as head coach, reaching the semifinals and winning the Kelley Cup, Jared Bednar is off to bigger things.
Bednar will be taking on the job as assistant coach for the Abbotsford Heat, which is a brand new team in the higher level AHL. That’s only one step from the NHL.
But today, Stingrays’ assistant coach and former player Cail Maclean is also filling bigger shoes.
