The first Apple store in South Carolina officially opened it's doors today on King Street in downtown Charleston. Hundreds were lined up to check out the new store and all of the high tech gadgets inside.
"We are actually very excited to be welcoming the Apple Store here on King Street to Charleston," said store manager Jen Boyer.
Some waited hours to go inside, Jimmy Heyward waited since 9:30 last night.
"I'm excited to be the first person to get a receipt," he said.
Once the doors finally swung open at 10am, crowds flocked inside the store. No one could keep their hands off all things Apple from the iPhone to the iPod. But with the shaky economy why spend extra money on Apple?
"If they feel it's worth the money they'll spend money it," Heyward explained, "They may not want to pay for gas because they don't think it's worth it but 200 dollars for an incredible phone ... it's easily worth it."
Clearly the Apple store has taken a bite out of Charleston.
