(AP) -- A new biofuels plant planned for Berkeley County would convert waste grease and fat to fuel.
The county council recently reached an agreement with a Charlotte, N.C., company interested in building the plant.
The Charleston Post and Courier reports that EcoPlus Inc. would build a plant to take fat, oil and grease from across the region and convert them into a dried material that can be burned like coal.
The company has operated a similar plant in Charlotte for the past six years.
