(AP) -- Federal officials say they'll begin recruiting managers for the 2010 census and open offices in two South Carolina cities this fall. Census Bureau officials said Wednesday recruitment for management positions will begin immediately in preparation for the once-a-decade national head count. Offices will be opened in Charleston and Columbia this fall. Regional Director William Hatcher says the agency hopes to count every person. He says finding managers and opening offices this year is part of an effort to ensure an accurate count. The government uses census data to determine how many representatives each state should get in the U.S. House of Representatives and to distribute billions of dollars in federal aid.
