COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A fishing tackle company that includes 12 national brands says it will move its headquarters and about 150 jobs from Iowa to South Carolina. Pure Fishing's brands include Shakespeare, Penn and Fenwick. The State newspaper reported Sunday that CEO Terry Carlson said the company is seeking office space for 150 people in Columbia and hopes to have its new headquarters full by 2009. Carlson said the company came to South Carolina because of the state's freshwater fishing sites and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. He said the company plans to host South Carolina fishing trips for tackle buyers. Pure Fishing has 1,500 employees worldwide and is a subsidiary of Jarden Corp., which owns brands such as Mr. Coffee, First Alert and Coleman.
