A shark attack on Isle of Palms keeps beachgoers out of the water Friday afternoon. Emergency officials say the victim, a 24 year-old man, is in stable condition. Authorities say he was paddling out on a surf or boogie board when he was but by a shark on his arm.
The attack happened near 31st avenue around 1:45 pm.
Police warned swimmers to get out of the water after the attack, but swimmers ventured back in after the evacuation notice was lifted.
This is the second shark bite in two weeks on the Isle of Palms. A Columbia man said he was bitten on the hand by a shark near the 7th avenue entrance.
