The North Charleston Police Department Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant a home in North Charleston off of Lucille Drive. During the search, officers located a sophisticated hydroponics marijuana cultivation operation in an upstairs bedroom. The operation included a high powered lighting system, an irrigation system, a ventilation system, electric fans, automated timers, hydro and PH chemicals, and heat lamps. Officers recovered a total of 14 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $63,420.00.
Narcotics officers say the operation was in its early stages but had the potential of producing a substantial quantity of high grade marijuana.
Police arrested 30-year-old Steven Sean Grgach. Grgach is charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within half mile proximity of a school.
