North Charleston, SC - A couple from North Charleston died after their car was hit by another vehicle that ran a stop sign.
According to police, the accident happened around 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28.
The victims were 63-year-old Johnny Vice and his 62-year-old wife, Betty, according to the Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten.
Johnny Vice died at the scene and his wife died later at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital, Wooten stated. The preliminary report showed that both died of blunt force trauma. An autopsy will be performed on Monday, June 29.
Police spokesman Charles Francis says the suspect vehicle had driven away as an officer walked toward the vehicle.
No arrests have been made.
The Highway Patrol was investigating.
