Severe Weather Hits Lowcountry

High winds downed trees and powerlines in Hanahan, and 3500 homes in the area had their power knocked out due to the storms.
A funnel cloud was spotted off of Dorchester Rd, just to the southwest of Summerville.
There were additional reports of dime to nickel-size hail in North Charleston, Downtown, and James Island.
There were no confirmed reports of tornadoes, but the National Weather Service (web | news) will survey the damage on Sunday to determine if a twister did touchdown and cause some of the damage.
