Hanahan, SC - Severe storms rolled through the Lowcountry between 7pm to 9:30pm. Tornado warnings were issued for central Charleston county and parts of Berkeley and Dorchester counties.
High winds downed trees and powerlines in Hanahan, and 3500 homes in the area had their power knocked out due to the storms.
A funnel cloud was spotted off of Dorchester Rd, just to the southwest of Summerville.
There were additional reports of dime to nickel-size hail in North Charleston, Downtown, and James Island.
There were no confirmed reports of tornadoes, but the National Weather Service
(web | news) will survey the damage on Sunday to determine if a twister did touchdown and cause some of the damage.
