Isle of Palms, SC -
A 500 yard par 5 with plenty of picture perfect views along the way.
"The nice thing about this whole it's the last impression of the course and you just look at nature at its best," said Phil Riker.
He’s taking his swing at the new 18th hole on the Links Course at Wild Dunes. A hole that for months was out of bounds after beach erosion ate away parts of it.
"The anticipation is what it’s all about and now that it's here you can just bask in it," he said.
"We've been waiting for it to come back for 6 to 7 months and we played it before and it's even better now," said Rick Horton.
Rebuilding the links first required rebuilding the beach. A 10 million dollar re-nourishment project in May of last year fixed the shore. After extensive work on the grounds the beachside hole now ready for a new round of birdies.
"This has been the signature hole at wild dunes for years and this really brings back the tradition of golf at Wild Dunes," said Jeff Minton with Wild Dunes.
Golfers are getting a sneak preview of the hole today tomorrow the official grand re-opening tee's off.
