Mount Pleasant, SC - At around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, Mount Pleasant firefighters responded to an electrical fire at the old Wando High School campus.

 

Officials say a fire erupted on a power pole on Whipple Road. After extinguishing the blaze, the firefighters were called to Moultrie Middle about a fire in a transformer in the school’s courtyard.

 

Firefighters were able to quickly contain both fires.

 

SCE&G workers say the transformer likely caused the fire on the power pole, but are unsure what caused the transformer to pop.

 

No one was injured in either fire.
