An angry father, upset over how his son was arrested, accused of 8 crimes including drug offenses and resisting arrest.
"While he was cuffed there were constantly kicking on him and beating on him, one had his hand around his neck and the other was boxing him," said Clarence Logan Sr.
The incident started on Wednesday when police tried to arrest Clarence Logan Jr. He allegedly ran from police but was apprehended near his father's home. Police say he punched two officers during the arrest and also ignored verbal commands and did not give himself up. Logan's father says otherwise and believes police went too far.
"I know he's swelled up real bad, his neck is swelled up and he has a broken jaw," Logan Sr. said.
He believes the attack could be racially motivated, he says he's outraged at the officer's conduct.
"You are trained as a professional to handle cases like this. It shouldn't go to the point where you're beating and kicking someone in handcuffs," he said.
The North Charleston Police Department is not commenting on the case until an investigation is called for and completed. The Logan family say they are considering suing the city.
