Columbia, SC - Three high school seniors have been arrested and charged with vandalizing 26 South Carolina school buses.
The State reported Friday that all three 18-year-old men attended North Central High School in Kershaw County. School Superintendent Frank Morgan says disciplinary hearings will be conducted to determine if the students will be allowed to graduate.
Harrison Toney of Bethune, Darius Kelly of Heath Springs and Nathaniel Jones of Kershaw are charged with malicious injury to property worth more than $5,000. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison.
State officials say the damage to the buses is estimated at $16,000. The slashed tires, broken headlights and damaged radiators were discovered early Tuesday.
The teens did not yet have attorneys.
