Dorchester County, SC - A Ridgeville correctional officer is being charged with distribution of cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.
According to the Dorchester County Metro Narcotics Unit, during an investigation on Tuesday, May 5 drug agents purchased cocaine from John Russell Lambert, 28, of Summerville and Samuel Henry Crowe, 29, of Summerville.
It was during the investigation when officers determined Lambert was an active correctional officer at the Lieber Correctional Institute in Ridgeville.
Officers said while arresting Crowe they had to subdue him after he refused to follow instructions given by the officers.
When the two men were arrested officers found Lambert in possession of additional Cocaine and Crowe in possession of Cocaine and Marijuana during the arrest.
Lambert is being charged with distribution of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Crowe is being charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine, simple possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
The total amount of cocaine that police seized was 10.6 grams and 3.7 grams of marijuana.
