May 10 will be South Carolina voters final day to register for the June 10 primary election. Offices that will appear on the ballot include: Charleston County treasurer, clerk of court, coroner, auditor, and sheriff. Also former Berkeley County Prosecutor Blair Jennings will compete against incumbent Scarlett Wilson for the Charleston and Berkeley County solicitor.
South Carolina's first congressional district will be up for grabs as republican Henry Brown will defend his position against business owner Paul Norris, Blackbaud employee Joel Evans, and democrat Linda Ketner, who is a philanthropist.
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham will run for re-election against Lexington Orthodontist Buddy Witherspoon. Other candidates in that race from the Lowcountry include Summerville's businessman John Cina, and the only democrat in the race, Mount Pleasant Lawyer Michael Cone.
To register to vote simply go to your county registration board and fill out an application. Or you can fill out an application at http://www.state.sc.us/scsec/vr.html which can be mailed in. All South Carolina polls stay open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day. The deadline for November's general election will be on October 4.
