Ana Garcia Millan, 3, and her 18-month-old brother, Juan Garcia Carbajal, were killed in a car accident on I-26 after being thrown from the vehicle.  The children, were rushed to MUSC with life threatening injuries.  The 3-year-old died hours after the accident on Thursday, while the 18-month-old died from head trauma at 5:00 a.m. on Friday.  Deputies found one car seat in the vehicle during the initial investigation and it is unclear if either of the children were properly using the child safety seats.

It all happened around 2:15 p.m.  The Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to a traffic accident at I-26 eastbound near the Ashley Phosphate exit at mile marker 210, after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Witnesses say the vehicle suffered what appeared to be a tire malfunction before the driver lost control. The vehicle, a four -door 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass, was seen veering off the roadway before hitting several trees. The driver, Millan-Farusto, 42, and 22-year-old Delores Veronica Garcia-Millan, were also injured in the accident.
