Hampton County, SC - A Hampton County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured while responding to a domestic dispute in Gifford.
According to police, two sheriff’s deputies responded to a criminal domestic violence call just before 7 a.m. on Friday, April 10 on Murdock Street.
Once the deputies arrived on the scene, the CDV call escalated and shots were fired. Both the suspect and one of the deputies were injured during the shooting, police said
The suspect and deputy are currently being treated at Hampton Regional Medical Center. Both of their injuries are not life threatening, police said
This was the second time a sheriff’s deputy was injured in the line of duty in the past two days.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is currently investigating the incident and further details will be released as they become available.
