(AP) -- People as old as 25 would be covered under their parents' health insurance policies under a bill the South Carolina Senate has approved.

They'll have to be single and claimed as a dependent on federal income tax returns and not eligible for insurance under other health plans.

The legislation approved Tuesday also says any child returning with at least six months' of active duty in the National Guard or regular services are eligible for coverage under their parents' policies unless they've had a dishonorable discharge. They'll lose coverage when they return to duty, marry or reach age 30.

The bill now heads to the House.
