Man who wounded girlfriend, cop and shot at other officers pleads guilty

A Colleton Countyman is sentenced to more than 30 years in jail after pelading guilty to shooting at seven police officers.
On February 21, 2008, Marvin Williams, 26, hijacked a police car and drove it at speeds of 140 mph.
Williams was fleeing the scene where he shot an officer who was responding to shots that Williams fired at his girlfriend.
After abandoning the police car Williams then shoots at the six police officers who tried to apprehend him.
On Tuesday, March 31 Williams pleaded guilty to all 13 counts.
"Assault and battery with the intent to kill," the judge read.
"Guilty", Williams responded.
He then received a hefty prison sentence.
"You are confined to the South Carolina Department of Corrections for 38 years, " the judge said.
The prosecutor said Williams got what he deserved.
"He has 38 years to serve and it's violent, no parolable which means he has to do at least 85% of that before he can get out, " Deputy Solicitor Sean Thornton said.
Marvin Williams is now in the custody of the South Carolina Department of Corrections where he will begin serving his 38 year sentence.
Williams was also given more than $8,000 in fines and restituion.
