Charleston Air Force Base (CAFB) is home to the Armed Forces' best shutterbug.
Staff Sergeant Stacy Pearsall is the Military Photographer of the Year for 2007. Chosen from over 1,700 entries worldwide, Pearsall also took the honor in 2003. She is the only woman who has won the award twice.
"It's still a little surreal. It's gratifying to know my work was recognized at such a level," Pearsall said of the honor.
Pearsall is a member of the CAFB's 1st Combat Camera Squadron. Her decade long tenure as a photographer has taken her all over the world, including an Iraq (web|news) i war zone.
"Just trying to document with a camera out in a combat zone is unique in and of itself. With the bullets flying, you're supposed to concentrate on your job, taking pictures to tell the story," said Pearsall.
