(AP) -- Police say the director of a disabilities and special needs board in Sumter has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a disabled man. Authorities tell The (Sumter) Item newspaper that 50-year-old Sherill Holder was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct Tuesday. A day later, he was charged with the same crime in Manning.
Police say a 31-year-old disabled man told a counselor that Holder sexually assaulted him numerous times. The man said the assaults started several years ago in Manning and continued when he moved to Sumter.

Jail officials say Holder is being held on $25,000 bail. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
The Sumter diabilities board serves people with mental retardation, autism and head and spinal cord injuries.
