(AP) -- A Summerville pawnshop owner who is suing New York's mayor for slander has been charged with making an illegal gun sale. The owner is one of more than two dozen gun dealers that has been sued by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The mayor claims the gun dealers sold firearms illegally to undercover agents.
The federal grand jury indictment Wednesday of pawnshop owner Larry Mickalis is not related to the Bloomberg lawsuit. However, Mickalis is accused of selling a rifle and ammunition two years ago to a man he knew was a felon.

Mickalis faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
In November, Mickalis sued the mayor claiming Bloomberg said the gun shop owners "have New Yorkers' blood on their hands."
