The advantage of Facebook is that I get to see how my friend's daughter, Juliette, is growing like a weed and I don't feel as if I am missing out as much. Time seems to fly by in life and Facebook has a way of capturing a little bit of that time and letting you see it. It also gives those who don't always feel like talking on the phone a chance to catch up- I don't know about you--but I talk for 60 minutes a day just for the show, and much more after that (that's a lot of talking!) and the LAST thing I want to do is chat on the phone with a girlfriend after work. I just don't have the energy. Some may say it's a disconnect, I believe it gives me the time to decompress and still catch up with her. So writing on her Facebook Wall keeps our friendship going especially during the busy times in life.
Now some people tell you every move they make- like "Katie is making a sandwich"...."Richard is clipping his toe nails"....ick!! Too much information. Keep your status fun, your friends want to hear what's really going on in your life, not the mundane and personal info that should be kept to yourself...I always like "Cathy is loving the Coconut soup at Chai's" or "Dave is doing a beach sweep at Folly Beach". I want to know what is making you happy during the day!
So if you are a "Facebooker," check out the Lowcountry Live page, we would love to hear your ideas, your rants & raves and even see photos of your kids, animals or town. Without you, there would be no Lowcountry Live and Facebook just gives us another way to make sure we keep in touch with you! www.facebook.com
