Spoleto USA starts this week and I am excited for it to be back in town! Now I must admit, I don't have much money to attend the performances (as does most of the Lowcountry) but I'm setting aside some cash to enjoy some world class events. I'm looking forward to the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater performance-- they were here a couple of years ago and although I never attended, all of my friends raved about this special performance. I also am looking forward to the opera "Louise"...it's about love and freedom to find love, I recently met the main star, Stefania, and she was a delight and knows 5 different languages! When my husband heard the word "opera" he was a little hesitant, but I know once he sees it, he will love it as well. To check out all the performances log onto

Piccolo Spoleto is a city wide celebration of the arts community in Charleston, many of their events are free or under $10, so grab your friend/spouse/family member and try to enjoy at least one event! I'm looking forward to the blues and so much more. To see what you can attend, log onto www.piccolospoleto.com
